I know one or two things about falling. And almost breaking my ribs. But I also know a few things about getting back up.

I like pursuing my passions to the fullest. With my love for competitive cheerleading, I wanted to push myself as far as I could go. While I was cheering on the sidelines during student games, I was dreaming of competing internationally at the Olympic level.
So I challenged myself to try out for the national team. |
And I made the team.
Training for the national team was one of the hardest thing I've ever done. I thought I was fit, but was not fit enough next to the full-time athletes. I thought I was mentally strong, but was constantly faced with new challenges to keep my spot. And there were one too many moments when I almost broke all of my limbs. I fell a lot, and people said I wasn't good enough. But I kept trying until I stopped falling. I had a dream, and I didn't let anything get in the way. |
I was selected to compete in the World Cheerleading Championships held in Orlando, Florida, broadcasted globally on ESPN. I got to represent one of my two nationalities at the world's largest competition, and connect with athletes from around the world with the shared passion.

Whenever I face something that seems impossible, I remind myself of this time of my life. I know that truly anything is possible when I put in the work and my mind to it.
